- On another part of the same theme: it seems to me that some people think that
- old technology (the Amiga, any new or old 68K Amiga, in fact) should be
- cheaper to build than newer technology (PCs).

- In most cases this is not true, it works the other way round. The newer
- technology (PCs) is much cheaper to build. This comes partly from the price
- and availability of parts, and partly because the progress in the newer
- technology is towards cheapness.

- I don't think that AT can afford to lower the current Amiga prices much and
- continue to spend money for R&D. And concerning the often quoted lower PC
- and Mac prices: if I look at the reported losses of PC resellers and PC manu-
- facturers, I think PCs are sold with a net loss. And Apple (which followed the
- PC pricewars) had to restructure.
